Jean on Jean spent this last weekend recording our new 7″ single for Fox Hollow Records. We recorded at Freedom School Recording Studio with Mike and Craig. It was totally fun. We didn’t do any drum looping or a million over dubs like I’m used to and I’m so happy with how it came out. It sounds like a moment in time. There was no heat- so it was really really cold the first day. But on the second day I wore my parka.

The Super Reverb Amp sounded sweet when it was miked in the bathtub.

Here is Hunchback Craig living up to his name.

And here is Mike inspecting the Fox Hollow Las Palabras single.
I can’t wait til I have the Jean on Jean single in my hands… It should be here in a couple of months!

Next sunday October 11th I’m going to be playing anotherĀ show and pie extravaganza at Bruar Falls. There won’t be any BBQ this time cause it might be cold… so come hungry for sweets.
The show is with my old friend Sebastian Blanck and a some possible new friends, a band called The New Feelings who sound rad. I’m going to be making fall pies- pumpkin and apple will be represented… What else would you like? Please answer my poll to help me figure out what else to make…
I was listening to my friend Hatch’s radio show on WFMU and he played this Emitt Rhodes song. I had forgotten how good this record was.

September 24th At Union Hall in Park Slope. It should be fun. It’s a nice place and I’m playing 3 new songs- well 2 kindĀ of new ones and 1 brand new one…

I am reading this book called “The Rest is Noise” about 20th century classical music and I’m really enjoying it so far. It has an accompanying website that’s awesome too. If you want to listen to some righteous tunes and have them explained a little I recommend them both.
